For centuries, turmeric has been valued in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and health-promoting properties. Its active ingredient, curcumin, has a strong health-promoting effect, but its low bioavailability has so far been a serious limitation in effective use. Standard curcumin is fat-soluble, which means that the body absorbs it minimally without appropriate carriers.
